Copywork is a simple, gentle way to improve your child's handwriting and spelling over time. I have used it with all of my children up to a certain age with great success.
However, to me, the greatest benefit has been the good morals and ideas to which they have been exposed through the copywork. See, I always try to find something of value for my children to copy--excerpts of good literature, scripture, words of wisdom, etc.
Copywork shouldn't be overly burdensome and doesn't need to be intense. It's a short, daily exercise that reinforces over a long period of time. Typically, I use brief snippets for younger children or those who struggle with sensory issues so they don't become frustrated.
With that in mind, I created Inspirational Copywork - 36 weeks of brief inspirational quotations to promote good character and good penmanship.
Inspirational Copywork has 36 weeks (5 entries per week) of 1 to 5 line quotations from former presidents, reformers, missionaries, explorers, theologians, and other influential people. Many of the quotes focus on faith, courage, evangelism, education, etc.
This copywork can be used for print or introducing cursive and has lined pages opposite each week's entries for your child to use.
I hope this is a blessing to you! To download, click on the image below. Simply print and clip into a binder for your child and you're ready to go!
