In the last post, I shared some of the tremendous benefits of teaching children to work from a young age. To be fair, I suppose I should admit the drawbacks. (Sadly, there is rarely such a thing as a win-win situation in life.)
Here are my Top 5 Reasons NOT to Teach Children to Work:
If you are a Type A, like me, it can be difficult to let your children help sometimes. Especially when there is a very particular way that I want something done.
Seriously, trying as hard as a I can, I simply cannot come up with more than 4 reasons why you should not teach your children to work. And, really, I can easily dispel the aforementioned "reasons." So here goes:

In case you are wondering, I do not make my children do all of these chores on a regular basis. However, they are "tested" tasks that at least one of my six children has successfully performed multiple times at the designated age. These ideas are just to help you get started thinking about tasks that fit your home and your lifestyle. If you think of new ones, I would love to hear about them!
